Bookings, Payments and Refunds
Do you take cash on the day?
No. All bookings are processed via the website.
Can I change the date of my booking?
Cancellations must be advised at least 7 days prior to the course date so that a transfer to an alternative date can be arranged, cancellations after this date will result in a forfeit of all fees paid. Transfers must be completed within 6 months of the original course date. Refunds for cancellation or non-attendance are not available.
Driver Training Courses
What license do I need?
All drivers must have a minimum of a P1 (Red P-Plate) current Licence. Please bring your licence with you as you will need to present this at registration.
Learner drivers with a valid learner licence can attend the following courses;
- Nightdrive
- NSW Safer Driver (+50 log book hours)
- Defensive Driver Training (+50 log book hours)
Do I have to bring my own car?
Yes. Defensive Driver Training, Advanced Driver Training, Skid & Slide and 4WD Training courses are all completed in your own vehicle.
NSW Safer Driver Module 2 will be conducted in our dual controlled vehicle.
Can we share a car for Driver Training courses?
Yes. Vehicles can be shared for Driver Training.
Do I need to wear a helmet for Driver Training courses?
No. Helmets are only required for on track events.
What should I wear?
Please wear casual, comfortable clothing with regards to weather conditions – it can get very hot, and equally very cold at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Ensure that you wear comfortable flat, closed in shoes. Please note that high heels, thongs or sandals are not permitted.
What if it rains?
Driver Training will go ahead whatever the weather
Can we arrange a private course?
Yes, we can arrange a private course.
On-Track Events
Which Track Day group is best for me?
Beginners Group will suit drivers who have previously attended less than 3 track days at SMSP.
Intermediate Group will suit those who have attended 3 or more track days at SMSP.
Advanced Road Car group will suit drivers who have completed more than 5 track days at Sydney Motorsport Park.
What licence do I need?

Yes. Track Days are completed in your own car. Please ensure vehicles are roadworthy, have the correct oil and water levels and a full tank of fuel.
Can we share a car for Track Days?
Yes, you can share a car - Maximum of two drivers per vehicle.
Do I need to wear a helmet for Track Days?
Yes. Helmets are compulsory, a limited number of helmets are available to hire, please select this option when booking.
What to wear?
Long sleeve shirts and pants (covering ankle to wrist) and closed toe, flat shoes must be worn
What if it rains?
Track days will go ahead whatever the weather
Are spectators allowed?
Yes. Spectators are allowed to attend within the spectator areas.
Note: Passengers are not permitted
Can we arrange a private Track Day?
Yes. Private Track Days can be arranged. Please contact the office for additional information.
Media Accreditation
Do I need accreditation to photograph and/or film?
Sydney Motorsport Park and the Australian Racing Drivers’ Club, the official managing authority for the venue, require that any media attending any event or activity at the venue (including motorsport experiences, driver safety and training, corporate events and general media coverage) inform the venue of their plans no less than seven (7) days prior to the event, and have their activity approved by the ARDC. Media applications after this deadline and up to/including on the day will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances.
Media accreditation and activity on the venue is at the discretion of the ARDC, unless specified by the promoter of an event, who will take all responsibility, insurance and liabilities for media on the premises during their event. The ARDC reserves the right to deny or remove media access at any time, ie inappropriate behaviour or violation of event rules. Please email media@ardc.com.au for approval.
Use of Drones.
The permission for use at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP) of Drones, Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and Model Aircraft will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please be aware that unless specifically permitted by SMSP, UAVs are not permitted to be used and doing so could result in your eviction from the circuit. This rule applies regardless of the size or use of those UAVs.
